5 Steps to the Holiday Body

The summer will soon be upon us and that fortnight in the sun is fast approaching. The layers come off and what’s underneath comes down to the plans you put in place NOW.


Follow THESE 5 Steps to get you on your way to the body you have always craved both on the inside and out.….


Step 1: Attitude and Goal Setting

The first step is the most obvious but perhaps the hardest to adhere to. The thing you have got to ask yourself is “how much do I really want this and how much work am I prepared to put in…”?

Set yourself realistic goals and plan weekly what you hope to have achieved at the end of each period.


Step 2: Increase Activity

If you live a sedentary lifestyle then just 20 Minutes of moderate exercise 3 to 4 times a week is a great place to start. Walk when you can instead of driving or take the stairs instead of the lift. Moving more will help burn calories whilst building up fitness levels.


Step 3: Strengthen and Tone Muscles


To burn fat quickly and keep the calories burning the body needs to be in a constant anabolic state. To achieve this you need to strengthen the muscles through resistance training. Not only does this help to develop lean muscle tissue but weight training elevates your metabolism by 300%. This means that your body will continue to burn calories up to 36 hours after you leave the gym. Along with sustainable Fat Loss you can then achieve that toned & chiselled look that you will not get from doing an hour on the Treadmill!!


Step 4: Nutrition

Burning more calories than you consume will inevitably lead to weight loss. However what’s important is establishing where that weight loss is coming from. It is worth noting that the last thing the body will let go of is fat. Any weight loss through fasting or cutting meals out comes from water loss and muscle wastage.


Step 5: Don’t stress

You’re training hard and eating right but not seeing the results overnight? Don’t stress because you WILL reach your goals.
