The Cancellation of Exercises

Those that know me will know that I can't stand the majority of Fitness Influencers.
I do not like what they stand for, the majority of them are not even accredited and most of them actually have no in gym training experience with clients.
Now Influencers rise to their position thanks to namely the gullible, ignorant and misinformed that defines the "Follower". As sad as it is, hundreds of thousands watch their tripe and believe everything that is said to be "the way".
Fair enough, what will be will be....
BUT what I have noticed a lot of in feeds recently is the rise of a Cancel Culture from so-called "Experts" where certain exercises have been demonised.
Comments like "banned long ago", "only encouraged by physios to keep them in a job", and "avoid at all costs to avoid a Rotator Cuff Injury" (here we go again) or a "shoulder impingement waiting to happen" are followed with no real justification.
The exercises in questions are namely
The Close/Wide Grip Upright Row - (Shoulder Impingement)
Behind the neck Lat Pulldown - (Rotator Cuff Tears)
The Flat Bench Press, Dumbell and Bar - (Shoulder Impingement)
Behind the neck Military/ Barbell Press - (Rotator Cuff Tears)
NEWS FLASH!!!
ALL these exercises are perfectly safe IF....
You are coached correctly
You are coached correctly
You are coached correctly
I do not know why this cancel culture and scaremongering is creeping it's way into the Industry.
But it's frustrating that when I comment on the true techniques of these exercises that I am met with ridicule and condescension from some keyboard warrior from some backwater town in Hillbilly Ville who have absolutely no knowledge, experience and only Google as their friend.
You're always gonna get them but like I always say, if in doubt do the Old School thing and consult with a REAL Fitness Professional at your local Gym.
